Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

The only way this will be addressed is if

1 - people latch onto it and start making content about it - calling out MS for the lack of support/not being trustworthy keepers of people's data/ not responding to customer complaints etc. (none of this is actually news ofc.)

2 - enough people start cancelling (this is unlikely as people are likely paying for access to Office, not just Onedrive)

I suspect it will just 'start working again' - for some people at least - but I'm not waiting for that to happen and then for it to stop again...

Services like OneDrive are convenient and - effectively - free in many cases but when you consider that "the cloud" is just "someone else's computer" and I don't really want to use that anymore...

I'm even close to being able to kick Windows - just 1 or 2 apps left I can't use elsewhere - soon, MS, soon I will no longer need you at alll

Same issue. The only resolution I've had is unlinking affected accounts and logging into OneDrive under one account not affected thus far. Not an acceptable Band-Aid. This makes personal vaults unusable and forces us to disable certain backups so they don't repopulate on each PC. Small business, 5 people total. We use a family account due to size. I've rolled back to previous app versions without success.

Similar problem here. I only upgraded to the family plan a month ago, sharing with five others, and it was fine for the first three weeks, but then the links stated appearing. Last week it started with two of them, then added a third, and today a fourth has now been replaced with a link too, so only one of the five I'm sharing with now appears as a folder on our systems. I decided to use the family plan and get rid of iDrive, which I had used for some years, as I found it difficult to view files on there. Now, unless Microsoft resolve this soon I'll go back to iDrive and switch to a single personal OneDrive use, as the current situation is unworkable.
