Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

Hello to the Microsoft Community Support Specialist! Time for some action here - what's the status? Did they cut the budget on OneDrive?

Funny thing is, that I have same folder shared same way as the same time to two users, and one can acces it directly form exporer, other via website only.

It looks like user related isuue, because I've tried with share from another account and only that one user receives links, at others explorer way works.

The conclusion from experimenting on public forums so far appears to be that there are two types of accounts ("old" and "new"), and accounts of the same type can share via Explorer, while different types get links to the web. There are some subtle cues in the OneDrive UI that indicate what type of account you have (e.g.

However, to my knowledge nobody has found out yet whether it is possible to force an account to upgrade from "old" to "new" status, or whether there are any specific properties on an account that would prevent it from being migrated to "new" status.

    Hi,

I have posted this before but wanted to share this again on my finding. Sadly not a resolution but my observations.

I've tried to help 2x individuals with the same issue without a resolution. Sadly they have moved away from OneDrive and onto other products. But whjile I have the oppoprtunity to try and help them I noted the following:

Each had a Microsoft 365 Subscription shared with them. Reviewing the Storage assigned to their profile I noted the following

This is my OneDrive Storage Summary

Note the user has the 1TB allocation but his subscription is wrong (in that it does not show his Microsoft 365 Subscription). It only shows the Free 5GB.

BTW I've used Onedrive originally Skydrive for what seems forever hence the loyalty bonus, PLus a Windows Phone hence the Camera Roill Bonus.

Take a look for yourselves see if you storage show similar to my findings. I'll be interested to find out....
