Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

As of 2 days ago, I now have this problem – oddly, this is only occurring with 1 of the 2 folders that have been shared with me. It had been working fine for years, then 2 days ago, 1 folder appears as a link and deletes any of the files stored in that folder. As I am the owner fo all 3 OneDrive accounts, I had not changed anything settings-wise or even gone into the folders "sharing with" sections for there to be a change.

I am about to walk away from MS to be honest!!! Just witin the last 18 months or so, we have had to contend with the following:
- The upcoming forced termination of one of my fairly new PC’s that “doesn’t meet the criteria” to upgrade to Windows 11
- The way MS has been cramming CoPilot down our throats like MS is a face hugger and we’re Ripley in cryonic stasis on the Sulaco! With the immovable and frustratingly annoying prompts towards AI and the MS Word “Select the icon or press Alt + I to draft with CoPilot”.
- The ever-looming threat of deactivating Outlook Classic for a program with MUCH less functionality and riddled with bugs.
Seriously MS – sort ya sh*t out and get your act together, but I digress.

Going back to the issue at hand, 1 of 2 folders that have been shared with me, now appear as links in Explorer – why would this be? How long until a fix is pushed out?

Hi, I have this problem. I have 3/4 of a terabyte of storage of data that is now being deleted from my computer and fu----ng up my computer I can't do my workit is lowing down my network, it is stopping me doing what I need to do typical Microsoft not testing the software before putting it online.
