Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

I'm cancelling the subscription this year, moving it all to NextCloud and some Synology NAS drives. The NAS is great as I can synchronise content with remote drives. Already moved to Libre Office, Linux on my laptop as the OS. I really so no need for MS products any more.

unfortunately i cannot confirm this on my side. still have the same issue. tried to delete and share again. still the same problem

Me, too. I'm pretty sure Frank uses a different setup but he has not specified it in detail. So he (and possibly many others) may compare apples with pears.

Microsoft provides account for persons and for organisations. Those are different account types.

When I share a OneDrive folder from my personal account to my wifes personal account she sees it as an external link in the Windows Explorer which opens it in the default web browser.

When I add a shared folder from the organisation where I'm a member it presents the link as a folder in Windows Explorer and I can open it like any other folder.

Maybe Microsoft has not really an interest to fix this because a few threads in a forum and some few disappointed users present not really a business need.

    We will see.

Reading various post, I've come to the conclusion that this is account specific. For me, I have 4 accounts on my 365 Family account. I am able to successfully share with 3 accounts, but the 4th account doesn't work and gets the Internet Shortcut.

From what I have seen, a number of people have reported that it suddenly starts working, so I can only assume/hope that Microsoft are doing something on the backend which is fixing the accounts which are not working.

As for me, I have tried everything on my 4th account which doesn't work. I've removed all the shares, I've disconnected and removed from my 365 Family, but none of these have fixed the issue.
