Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.

Same here, I am looking at alternative to Windows, the office suit and onedrive.

    Its time.

This is not a bug, its a processing that is being applied without thinking, period.

Losing data is the one failure that sends us scurying for alternatives.

I'm just wondering how long before this reply is removed.

    Hi, Hans,

One question, I am subscribed to office 365 with 5 family members all in the same account.

    Same issue on my system.

Will this issue resolve by itself?
How can I verify that all files were synched before conversion to a shortcut?
Where are all of the files that were on my pc? are they gone - leaving only the online file?

Can you (appologising for my ignorance) share some info regarding this migration?

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Isaac

Class action to have a refund?? Ahah

Now that ptoblem is fixed (i had the same process: it took days to get sync again after months of simple link), i received an alert from microsoft about 30% increase of the cost.

They do not have shame, Trump's era drives every Big to do whatever business they want without any respect neither rule.

Do we have alternative? We are totally slave, no power at all

FINALLY GOT FIXED - IT IS WEIRD AND SCARY THOUGH because without warning OneDrive starts syncing ALL FILES and it looks as if it is downloading them, for which I'd never have enough local storage. I tried to designate folders as "save space" but it wasn't working during the process. And any other sync was stuck in the huge queue so files that weren't local couldn't be downloaded as the big fix conversion took over.

This is completely unacceptable in terms of the amount of time this took and the method of implementation. Class Action Lawsuit should be initiated and we should all get a refund for the fees paid as I know even for the two or three shared folders that were broken for months it caused a lot of pain and hassles.

It is clear that Microsoft doesn't give a **** about their customers and does whatever they want. Totally unhappy with the way this went. If Dropbox didn't suck so bad I would have switched already.

Glad it's over but it was a terrible experience.
