Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    For your information:

I recently complained politely via MS chat and, after a month of waiting, demanded compensation for this issue. I received three months of Office Family 365 free, and it looked like I'd moved up the list: After two days, my last family member is now using version 2!

However, I had to recreate the links afterward; they didn't convert automatically for me. After that, my PC was at full capacity trying to get everything back on track.

Well this sucks. We are a small buisness and I do some of my work from home with shared files from the store where I work. The dreaded link showed up today.

So I am supposed to just WAIT until the systems all get migrated? SERIOUSLY???? that is the answer? I understand this has been going on for almost a YEAR now and this hasn't been resolved???

The statment from MS that it’s working for 90% is IMHO misleading. The problem with 10% left to fixed means in reality that this one not-working account seems to be the most important in the family share which causes that the whole family share isn’t working. It means the remaining 90% can’t work too. So that statement should be considered as joke. Shouldn’t it?

I would not be surprised if only 10% of OneDrive Personal users actually used sharing at all, given that most users are on free edition or have OneDrive as a tolerated part of M365 subscription.

So yeah, only 10% of power users who managed to click the share button are affected, this was never a significant issue, we're overdoing things here.
