Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

Really - ten months? I thought it happened on April 10th 2025. The cloud issue has NOT been fixed. First I was told it was this morning then the i cloud icon appeared without the little ed cross and now it has appeared again and tells me this load of rubbish (below) You are right about big business.

The little people -individual home users, get treated like second class citizens. I demand access to i cloud I paid for.

I have had the red cross againsg tthe icloud again and it was not there earlier this morning so I stupidly thought Microsoft had fixed it. They have no. I have had three days of not knowing what was going on and very poor support from two people -one who was a woman and remoted in and saw the problem. She was in India . She could not solve it so put me on to a technical person who she said she would breif but she did not so I do not trust her either. a technical person whose surname was Malik I think who had not been told anything. So I am left having paid for this 365 each September for many years, to find I have no storage and a message saying buy 365! We renew every September. Outlook also had this message about expiring on April 10 and I could not use email for a while when I was needing to receive and open medical information for my ill husband from my doctor. Dreadul Dreadful Dreadful!!!

Microsoft launches a cyber attack on computers using OneDrive, slowly filling the computer's hard drive with URL files until the computer crashes. If you email them, all they tell you is to wait and keep deleting the files that keep duplicating themselves. It will sort itself out in the end.

i can't leave OneDrive running if i do my computer will crash as my recycle bin will fill up with URL files as  it try to sync folder that I have linked with my wife, but it can',t so it deletes the URL, creates another,r then starts the deletes, creates etc  until hard drive full

    I can't unlink

    My wife can't unlink me

    stuck

    so cyber attack

Its a disgrace that this issue has been going on for over 10 months, if it affected big business it would be fixed in 10 seconds, why should everyone that's affected which does seem to be thousands maybe millions after reading on so many post on the internet all pay for a subscription, this should be discounted due to the poor service.
