Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

I don't think this would be a matter of users affected because knowing MS they surely know it very well, and also what we do afterwards.

They are doing it for almost a year, probably had other test subjects and noticed they make MORE money by breaking their own service.

That said, let's just start a game here and put a number at the end, increasing from the previous message, to see how long the conversation goes further, already going on for this long. Maybe this motivates silent people to participate. Let's add up and adjust to our future messages if people post without numbers on in the middle of the conversation to see how long this goes...

Everyone who comes across to this thread and has the same problem should post a reply so they can see how many of their users have been facing this problem. I have a family plan with one primary and 3 extra accounts currently active which all share their single folders with the main account. Only one of them appears as an internet shortcut and all others work fine, at least for now. It has been weeks since it's broken and it ruins my workflow.

And anyone whose folders are fixed please write here how long it lasted so we can decide to wait or find another service instead of OneDrive.

My tech buddy solved this OneDrive issue for my family.

    1. Downloaded the entire shared folder from OneDrive (where we have all our files stored) to a local PC (300 GB of data).
    2. Formed a new account within OneDrive (which creates the new account in the Version 2 environment).
    3. Formed a new account for the other user in our OneDrive Share environment.
    4. Migrated all 300 GB of data onto OneDrive in the new account.
    5. Shared the new account master folder with the other new user account.
    6. Delete the old accounts (one of which had migrated and the other had not).

20 hours of tech time ($2,000 cost to me) and we are back up and running as before. Absolutely infuriating to have to go through this and Microsoft should reimburse me for that cost, but that would be in a world where large companies actually cared about their customers. Clearly Microsoft does not care.
