Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    Hi Hans,

Thank you for being here. I've copied the statement as well previously but I'm afraid this thread will be out of control (and the unability to pin an answer doesn't help).

People reply to the initial post without reading the 120 (or so) pages, so we can expect more and more feedback.

Best thing to do is have a OneDrive product group representative jump in and first apologize then give us an actual roadmap as would do any professional firm respecting its customers (not even mentioning a deserved compensation for affected users).

A global mail relating the incident would be nice as well...

Can you help getting someone aboard ASAP? Thanks.

Throughout this thread people have mention that they are leaving to go to other services, and it has not made a scrap of difference. There are individuals and countless small business that have been adversely affected by this issue. As a small business we have lost countless hours as a result and it is time for us to cut our losses and move on.

It was suggested to us to move to SharePoint. Microsoft has really screwed us over here along with millions of other users so I’m hesitant to throw good money after bad and move to another Microsoft solution just to be left high and dry again.

    Alternatives include:

    • ClickUp
    • Nextcloud
    • Dropbox
    • GoogleDrive
    • MEGA
    • pCloud
    • Sync.com
    • BOX
    • ShareFile
    • iCloud Drive

I have the exact same problem. All my workflows are broken and I'm also totally unable to perform simple tasks as I was doing before.

The most shocking thing is that today a customer support representative told me that I should just accept this change as it is a new way that Microsoft decided, without informing its customers.

What I was told on the phone contradicts what I read online that it is a bug that Microsoft seems to be unable to fix.

    Please help!

    Thanks
