All Recent & Pinned File Links Lost

I rebooted my PC today after a Windows update and afterwards in Word, Excel and PowerPoint my Recent Files list and Pinned Files List are all empty. And when I open an existing document, it does not show up in the Recent file list like it used to.

How do I fix both of these issues?

For those who want to rollback to a previous version of Office 365 here are the directions.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-revert-to-an-earlier-version-of-office-2bd5c457-a917-d57e-35a1-f709e3dda841

The previous version information is: 3/4/2024 Version 2402 Build 17328.20162

To go further back click the following link and scroll down to "Version History".

You need to make sure you disable updates or the latest version will reinstall at some point.

This sounds like a related issue, but this specific bug is new as of March 20, 2024. Too many people have just started experiencing this for it to be a bug from months ago.

If they have not fixed that old bug, I fear the current March 20 issue will not be fixed anytime soon...

    UGH

Thanks for your effort on this. I've come to the conclusion that I'll simply have to wait for Microsoft programmers (whoever and where ever they are) to fix the programming problem. One day the Recent and Pinned lists will work again when they consider it a priority.

I ran the Microsoft Quick Fix function and the Online Repair function. Although the Online Repair re-installed Microsoft 365 it didn't fix the problem. As mentioned earlier when I unlinked OneDrive, the Word Recent list reappeared but only until I re-booted a second time at which time the list disappeared once again.
