I rebooted my PC today after a Windows update and afterwards in Word, Excel and PowerPoint my Recent Files list and Pinned Files List are all empty. And when I open an existing document, it does not show up in the Recent file list like it used to.

How do I fix both of these issues?

For those who want to rollback to a previous version of Office 365 here are the directions.

The previous version information is: 3/4/2024 Version 2402 Build 17328.20162

To go further back click the following link and scroll down to "Version History".

You need to make sure you disable updates or the latest version will reinstall at some point.

Don't worry. I'm sure once a Microsoft developer asks Co-pilot how to fix the problem, it will be solved instantaneously.

This problem is not related to OneDrive as I have the same problem and I have had OneDrive disabled via Task Manager for years now. What is really confusing is that the only file it shows in the recent list is one from April of 2023 as being on OneDrive? I think MS really messed something up.

I did the full online Office Repair and it pulled my short cuts off the Desktop and then put them back in again.

STILL DIDN'T FIX IT AND IT DOWNLOADED ONE DRIVE AGAIN.

I deleted the one drive and tried and it still doesn't have recent files.
