How do I get Copilot off my Android phone? I didn't want Copilot taking over my phone screen and DEMANDING that I login to Microsoft Copilot AI to continue using my phone. I use Excel on my phone, Microsoft 365 installed itself without permission like a virus and now I have to fight for control of my phone every time someone sends me a spreadsheet. Copilot doesn't exist as an app that can be disabled. It has no control panels or switches. It's a malicious unwanted program. By definition a malware.

Copilot seems to be the 21st century equivalent to Clippy (except Microsoft didn’t try to trick people into paying extra for Clippy), Microsoft seems to have forgotten how much Clippy was hated.
I'm done with it. I got it blocked on my Windows 11 laptop, but it was still nefariously lurking every time I opened up an Outlook app. "Just click 'Disable CoPilot' in the app settings!" there IS NO functional app setting in the Office apps that works. Click "disable" and it still pops up and hovers around.
I need to write documents, make an occasional presentation and manage my personal spreadsheets. I installed LibreOffice 24.8 (it's FREE!!). OpenSource software that I remembered from my Linux days. Works great! Does what I need, not f**king AI bots hovering around what I am working on.
I agree with your sentiments. I resent having this unnecessary intrusion to my space and devices. I am perfectly capable of writing an email and find it infuruating to have the screen partially blocked and disrupting my work.
The day I retire is the day I part company with Microsoft. How I long to delete you!
I just took it step by step:
1)Delete your copilot from Microsoft 365 and send a direct deletion request to Microsoft to do this follow the steps below. Need to go to your account on Microsoft for these steps.
1.1) Sign into your my account portal with your work or school account at https://myaccount.microsoft.com/
1.2) Navigate to settings and privacy -> Privacy ->
1.3) Under the 'Data options' navigate to copilot interaction history and select 'Delete' These steps was referenced from the following source and for further clarification on this visit: https://support.microsoft.com/office/76de8afa-5eaf-43b0-bda8-0076d6e0390f
*This step cleaned out the baffles so my Android would stop looking for CoPilot when it would sync.*
And then to REALLY be sure, on the Android phone, look for any additional hooks:
2.1) On your android go to settings
2,2) Look for "Security" or "Lock screen and security" options.
2.3) Find and tap on "Device administrators" or a similar option.
2.4) Check if Copilot or any related Microsoft services are listed here with admin privileges, and uncheck the box next to copilot to revoke it's permissions Alternatively also filter the settings search bar to 'Permissions' and this should hopefully filter to the apps that have admin permissions which Copilot seems to have.
It no longer pops up when I try and respond to Emails.
