How do I get Copilot off my Android phone? I didn't want Copilot taking over my phone screen and DEMANDING that I login to Microsoft Copilot AI to continue using my phone. I use Excel on my phone, Microsoft 365 installed itself without permission like a virus and now I have to fight for control of my phone every time someone sends me a spreadsheet. Copilot doesn't exist as an app that can be disabled. It has no control panels or switches. It's a malicious unwanted program. By definition a malware.

Thank you so much! I finally found it under system apps listed as Moto AI something. I have restarted my phone and i can finally get results i want, not what ai thinks i should wany.
Go to Settings, Notifications, App Notifications, scroll down to M365 and toggle off notifications for it. If you do not see it on the list, select 3 dots in upper right and "Show system apps". I do not know why it is hidden under system apps the first time I looked for it. After that, it showed up on regular list. Turning off should get rid of those annoying pop-ups to try the new Copilot AI. I couldn't write and email with it disrupting my composition of a draft in Outlook.
Oooo. Please let us know your results! This could be good Even social websites used to be fun. Now it's all ai fake pictures and b.s. stories, ads etc . All the fun of the socials have been taken away. No more chat rooms. I could go on and on. Back to playing solitaire I guess

I feel the pain of users that are trying to lower involvement with AI on their devices. NONE of the posts by technical advisers seems even close to relevant to me after wasting time trying them. I'm posting this screed because I want Microsoft to KNOW how I feel. I recommend every user that doesn't want AI... to flood the blog here in an attempt to MAKE them listen and know how serious we are.
Today 2/10/25 I tried canceling my Office 365 subscription at the account page. When I hit cancel subscription of course it didn't cancel. A new page with account options came up. There is an option that does NOT include Copilot. It is SLIGHTLY less expensive too. I signed up for ONE month of the new AI free Office 365. I will test it for a month before signing up for the annual subscription. Before canceling anything think about problems that could come up. Your cloud storage is a big thought. The new subscription says it's everything that I already have but without Copilot. Time will tell. This change for me will start in April 2025 and I'll try to update here on how it goes.
I am also looking for alternatives to Office which I have used and really liked since it was invented. My thought is that anything / anywhere we go some sort of AI will be involved. This doesn't mean we shouldn't keep fighting against having this intrusion into our world. Good luck people.
