OneNote "Email Page" function not working with new Outlook

I conducted a meeting yesterday and sent out my notes with the Email Page function in OneNote.

This morning, I looked through my sent emails in the New Outlook and couldn't find the sent notes anywhere. Additionally, I didn't have them in my inbox either, which I would have expected since I was also an attendee.

Resent them this morning, thinking I must have forgotten to send them, but realized that the email window that opens when I click "Email Page" is from the old outlook. Opened the old outlook, and it instantly sent both my notes from yesterday AND my resent notes.

So basically, if you don't leave the old Outlook open, it seems you can't expect OneNote to actually email out your pages, even if you clicked send. The old outlook has to be opened up for the send to actually happen.

This needs to be fixed quickly. Believing that you sent something that never went out is a good way to set people up for failure.

    A potential temp workaround while this bug is getting fixed, because I also need this Email Page function for New Outlook

    • save the email made as a draft in Old Outlook, exit, and then email it out from New Outlook

    Good call! I'm going to relay that info to our Project Management team, which is our most heavily impacted group for this issue. Thanks for posting this!

    My workaround is opening the old Outlook and wait a few seconds.

    The page is in Outbox in the old Outlook so as soon as I open it, it will send.

    I use this feature several times a day. Big step back when using new outlook. To get around this huge feature loss, I keep old outlook open at all times, even when using new outlook. That seems to allow the email to send.

    Emails from OneNote go always to Old Outlook for the same reason they never went to the Mail app.

    Outlook uses an old interface: MAPI.
