Microsoft 365 Calendar Won't Sync with iPhone or Webmail

Microsoft reported on February 29th that the connection issue for MS 365 using Exchange ActiveSync had been resolved.

I then changed my settings to allow for updates as I too had lost my Exchange connection. The update installed was 2402 (Build 17328.20162).

The update however, has now created an issue with the MS 365 calendar not syncing with my iPhone and Webmail. This only occurs when I'm using the MS 365 calendar on my laptop to add or change an event. The entry or change does not show up on my iPhone or webmail. However, when I use my iPhone calendar or Webmail calendar to create an event or change an event, it does show up in the MS 365 calendar on my laptop? Go figure.

I have deleted and set up my account on my iPhone. I have uninstalled MS 365 and reinstalled from my MS Account. The version reinstalled is 2401 (Build 17231.20236). No change.

I use Shaw/Rogers as my email provider.

Please help.

Thanks

Barry

My current work-around is to unclick the calendar with my email address and then enter my events. They sync right away. Then click on the calendar with my email address to view things that show up there along with everything else.

So you are entering the events in the iCloud calendar and they sync immediately? That is how it is supposed to work. Apple does not pull events from the default calendar, it only syncs the iCloud calendar. It's how Apple wrote the iCloud add-in to work - it's all on Apple, not Microsoft. If you wanted to sync iCloud to the default calendar, you need to use a 3rd party add-in - I use gsyncit because it supports gmail, yahoo, iCloud and caldav.

Do you see a page like this when you right click on the calendar and choose Properties? The location is near the top.

To eliminate the need to uncheck the calendar - click on the iCloud calendar tab at the top or show the default and iCloud calendars side by side.

The bolder / brighter tab is the active tab (blue tab in this screenshot) - or click the arrow in front of the calendar name to show the calendar side by side instead of overlaid.

BTW - your issue is totally different than the issue Barry has with calendar sync. He's syncing with a web server using Active Sync. You're using the iCloud add-in to sync.

    Hi there,

Thank you for your reply. Honestly, I tried and couldn't follow her directions either. Rather than suggest workarounds, Microsoft should just fix the issue, which goes back to February 2024.

If you are comfortable in trying, I have an email from Diane that helped me to revert to Version 2312 (Build 17126.20132). It contains screenshots, etc. for the step by step process. As I stated yesterday, this version works totally fine. No sync issues at all. If you want to try, please send me an email and I will attach her email back to you.

    Best Regards

I haven't contacted them yet to follow up on your suggestions. What Diane suggested I am unable to follow. e.g. after right clicking and choosing properties, I don't know what a location field is.

My current work-around is to unclick the calendar with my email address and then enter my events. They sync right away. Then click on the calendar with my email address to view things that show up there along with everything else.

    Good day,

Hope you had a good weekend.

Just following up to see if you got my message I sent on 11/09th.

I'm experiencing the same issue as you described above. I do not use an iCloud calendar.

If you are still having issues after reviewing what Diane has suggested, my suggestion would be to contact MS Support and have them assist you remotely to revert your MS 365 software to Version 2312 (Build 17126.20132). This version works just fine. No sync issues with email, calendar, contacts or task list. The issue started with subsequent updates.

After nine months you would think MS would get this issue fixed. Several MS customers/users are having the same issue. So frustrating to say the least.

I would be most interested in knowing how you make out.

    Good luck!

    Barry
