Microsoft reported on February 29th that the connection issue for MS 365 using Exchange ActiveSync had been resolved.
I then changed my settings to allow for updates as I too had lost my Exchange connection. The update installed was 2402 (Build 17328.20162).
The update however, has now created an issue with the MS 365 calendar not syncing with my iPhone and Webmail. This only occurs when I'm using the MS 365 calendar on my laptop to add or change an event. The entry or change does not show up on my iPhone or webmail. However, when I use my iPhone calendar or Webmail calendar to create an event or change an event, it does show up in the MS 365 calendar on my laptop? Go figure.
I have deleted and set up my account on my iPhone. I have uninstalled MS 365 and reinstalled from my MS Account. The version reinstalled is 2401 (Build 17231.20236). No change.
I use Shaw/Rogers as my email provider.
Please help.
Thanks

Sorry, I was out of the office. I'll check with my contacts and see what is going on.
Hi Dianne,

Hi Dianne,
Thanks for your response.
Actually, it never broke again. The frustrating thing is that it's never been fixed. After the February update/communication from MS advising that the lost Exchange ActiveSync connection was restored. That version is where the bug or issue started.
Let’s start from the beginning.
In January we lost the Exchange ActiveSync connection as stated below.
The Workaround was to revert to Version 2312 Build 17126.20132 until the issue was fixed. As I have previously stated this version works totally fine. No issues that I can see.
This is a message from MS. on February 29th, advising users/customers that the issue was fixed in Version 2402 Build 17328.20068.
The connection was restored however, it is in this version where the calendar syncing issue started. So, one would think that the engineers can go back to Version 2312 Build 17126.20132 and compare it to subsequent updates to see where the issue is!!!
Outlook Desktop Exchange ActiveSync connections stopped working in Version 2401
Outlook for Microsoft 365
Last Updated: February 29, 2024
ISSUE
After updating to Version 2401 Build 17231.20182 Outlook stops connecting when using the Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) protocol.
STATUS: FIXED
This issue is fixed in Outlook Desktop Version 2402 Build 17328.20068 and higher. To install the update right away select File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now.
A few weeks ago I did another test after allowing the latest update (August 2024) to download.
I created 3 tests as follows.
I've been working with a contact on the business side of MS. This individual prepared a business case with all of the information I provided, such as screenshots, etc. However, prior to submitting the case for further review I advised him that my subscription is a Family MS 365. He then advised me to once again contact the personal/home side. So the frustration continues, as I along with other MS user/customers are continuing to experience the same thing.
I've been in touch with the home side of MS at least 4-5 times since February 2024. The folks that I have communicated with seem to understand the issue, tell me they will take it forward and I never hear from them again. When I follow up on the case no., I'm advised that the ticket has been closed. That is so frustrating!
Perhaps you are able to put me in contact with someone on the home side who I can speak directly to.
Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Dianne,
Good to hear from you again. I’m connected via a Family MS 365 subscription. Shaw is my email provider and I’m connected using Exchange ActiveSync.
You helped me revert back to a previous version which is the only one that still works perfectly with email, calendars, contacts and tasks.
I’ve been trying to get the issue resolved for 7 months.
Very frustrated!
Barry
Ok - you're using the Shaw account with EAS - so it sounds like it broke again. In which case, you need to rollback to 2401 Build 17231.20182 (or the most recent version when it still worked).
Type cmd on the Start screen to find the Command Prompt then right click on it and choose Run as Administrator. Paste this line in the command prompt window.
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17231.20182
