Microsoft 365 Calendar Won't Sync with iPhone or Webmail

Microsoft reported on February 29th that the connection issue for MS 365 using Exchange ActiveSync had been resolved.

I then changed my settings to allow for updates as I too had lost my Exchange connection. The update installed was 2402 (Build 17328.20162).

The update however, has now created an issue with the MS 365 calendar not syncing with my iPhone and Webmail. This only occurs when I'm using the MS 365 calendar on my laptop to add or change an event. The entry or change does not show up on my iPhone or webmail. However, when I use my iPhone calendar or Webmail calendar to create an event or change an event, it does show up in the MS 365 calendar on my laptop? Go figure.

I have deleted and set up my account on my iPhone. I have uninstalled MS 365 and reinstalled from my MS Account. The version reinstalled is 2401 (Build 17231.20236). No change.

I use Shaw/Rogers as my email provider.

Please help.

Thanks

Barry

Following is an email I sent to MS on 10/25th. Still waiting for a response or even an acknowledgement.

    Hi Anthony,

I’m truly grateful that you reached out to me. I did receive a callback yesterday, however after being transferred twice, and online for 30 minutes, our connection was lost so I wasn’t able to communicate the issue.

I would really appreciate an opportunity to chat with you next week as I’ve been trying to get a calendar sync issue resolved since February 2024. I’m in western Canada (Mountain Time) and would be available to chat most days after 10:00 AM.

I order to prepare for our discussion, I will outline what I believe the problem to be.

    Following is the Issue

Outlook Desktop Exchange ActiveSync connections stopped working in Version 2401

Outlook for Microsoft 365 - Last Updated: February 29, 2024

STATUS: FIXED - This issue is fixed in Outlook Desktop Version 2402 (Build 17328.20068) and higher.

The EAS connection was restored in the above fix.

However, it’s in this version 2402 (Build 17328.20068) where the MS 365 calendar syncing issue started.

The 2402 (Build 17328.20068) update created another issue. One would think that the backend engineers can go back to Version 2312 (Build 17126.20132) and compare it to subsequent updates to see where the issue is. It just seems so simple for them the check it out.

Version 2312 (Build 17126.20132) works just fine. No calendar sync issues at all. The issue is with subsequent updates starting with Version 2402 (Build 17328.20068). As a result, I have stopped receiving updates on my subscription until the issue is resolved.

Earlier this week I checked by allowing Build 2409 to download to determine if a fix had been put in place, but that has not happened to date. After checking, I would have to revert back to Version 2312. One would think after 9 months, MS would have fixed it already.

Please let me explain exactly what the issue is.

    1. If I make a calendar entry on webmail, it shows up on webmail, iPhone and MS 365 Outlook Calendar. (No issue.)
    2. If I make a calendar entry on iPhone, it shows up on webmail, iPhone and MS 365 Outlook Calendar. (No issue.)
    3. If I make a calendar entry on MS 365 Calendar the entry will “NOT” show up on webmail and iPhone but will show up on my MS 365 Outlook Calendar. (An issue.)

So, it's only when an entry is made using my MS 365 Outlook calendar is where the issue is.

Many other MS customers over the last nine months have commented on the community post I made, that I are experiencing the same issue.

I also have screenshots to illustrate the issue.

As stated, I've been trying to get MS to resolve this issue for NINE months.

Can we please set up a date/time next week to chat.

    Thank you.

To the moderators of this forum and, specifically, this issue: Please provide an update about where MS is at with a fix to this problem. I am still rolled back to version 2312 as a work around. Thank you.

this ticket has bounced around for almost 9 full months, and the only response that did anything was a workaround, but this user is still unable to move forward with his outlook because if he does, it breaks his syncing and If it’s not going to be fixed, you should let him know, so he can try to get some other email/calendar system. if it is going to be fixed, you should also let him know so that he can know when it’s gonna be fixed. This sort of response has to be wrong and not even close to SLA because the customer should be able to get support for a supported product and not have to wait months and months for some sort of answer
