Force sync in OneDrive

This DOES NOT WORK

I solved the problem for myself. I deleted Onedrive and downloaded Google One. Now I'm all backed up and have 15 GB available versus 5 GB.

What a uber garbage this is? No sync button in 2024, really? I had to pause and unpause synchronization just to upload few hundred jpegs when I needed them RIGHT NOW. The status in the tray kept saying that files were in sync (which was ofc a lie).

FYI: The reason I visited this thread was that my OneDrive would not sync no matter how long I waited, despite my having had no problems syncing before. At the same time I was also having another problem, which was that all my account-linked Microsoft apps (Edge, Office apps, etc.) were constantly displaying a "Sign In" button, suggesting that I was not signed in. I keep signing into each app, and soon thereafter the "Sign In" button would appear again. Eventually the connection between these two problems occurred to me: OneDrive would not sync because I was also signed out of OneDrive. So I opened up the OneDrive tray app (from the taskbar tray) and used it to sign in, after which my problem temporarily disappeared.

This "sign-in" problem is discussed in another thread ("Why does Microsoft Edge keep asking me to sign in?"). Occasionally Microsoft appears to release an update that causes this sign-in problem in all its web-linked apps. I've noticed this multiple times in the past, and each time the problem was eventually resolved by a subsequent update. This was the first time, however, that I had tried to copy documents to OneDrive while the sign-in problem was still afflicting me.

the best comment I've ever seen on Microsoft. Guys the product is out of date. Add a sync or push button. Allow me to push a file. I am tired of changing a file and somehow having that rewritten because OneDrive pushed the old file instead of syncing old changes.
