One drive has messed up my whole PC. How do I get my files back on my PC, and switch off one drive forever. (Please dont answer a question I did not ask)?

One drive asked me if I wanted to back-up my files, it does not back up, it steals them and puts them online and in the process loses lots of them and makes your whole document opening slower.

This is not what I wanted, and its not what it said it would do (back up)

I dont want it, it has messed up my whole PC.

How do I get my files back on my PC, and switch off one drive forever?

Please dont answer a question I did not ask, don't tell me about where they are stored and an online recycle bin, or green ticks or always keep on this device.

I just want to COMPLETELY reverse the operation.

    I hope then if something happens you can get them back in some semblance of the same order you put them there unlike some other users have experienced. Me I now have an external HD, and this "backs up" my stuff automatically, and is a back up in the true sense of the word. In other words its far superios than the P.O.S, microsoft one-drive which works neither as described nor as intended.

    Sorry if I was not clear.

    I DO NOT use OneDrive's automated backup/sync option, because I do not trust what it will do.

    Instead, I manually make backups on my computer and then copy those files to my OneDrive. So I have complete control.

    You will never know it will delete all your files until you uninstall onedrive 🤣🤣🤣

    Happy for you, except.... it's not really a "back up" (which is the crux of he issue), its a "delete from your PC and we'll take care of them" (badly I may say) on MS servers

    Sorry for not posting this earlier.

    I guess you'll have to color me lucky, because Microsoft auto magically fixed my problem and OneDrive is now working the way I want  it's not automatically backing up files and deleting them on my hard drive!

    So I continue to use it for backup, when I choose to – not when Microsoft doess
