One drive has messed up my whole PC. How do I get my files back on my PC, and switch off one drive forever. (Please dont answer a question I did not ask)?

One drive asked me if I wanted to back-up my files, it does not back up, it steals them and puts them online and in the process loses lots of them and makes your whole document opening slower.

This is not what I wanted, and its not what it said it would do (back up)

I dont want it, it has messed up my whole PC.

How do I get my files back on my PC, and switch off one drive forever?

Please dont answer a question I did not ask, don't tell me about where they are stored and an online recycle bin, or green ticks or always keep on this device.

I just want to COMPLETELY reverse the operation.

    I do not understand how to reply with the 5 stars scale; when a commentator replies with a strong negative comment that matches my own experience and I reply with a 5 star, is it like a thumbs up for Microsoft or thumbs down for the negative comment against MS?

    I am getting really pissed at MS seeing all the comments from users that match mine and the very poor response from MS since months and months. OneDrive is a Scam I want to get rid of but will I ever find my data?

    Microsoft took over everything, putting One Drive subfolder in front of EVERYTHING!...

    Already removed One Drive but my stuff on my PC still in ONe Drive Subfolders!

    To remove OneDrive from the path of your folders, you must turn off the backup before you uninstall OneDrive.

    Well color me STUPID! When I installed Windows 11 Pro after coming from Windows 7! I thought One Drive was like Google was on my phone, backing up everything for free and letting me easily delete to make ROOM! Microsoft took over everything, putting One Drive subfolder in front of EVERYTHING! And when you throw stuff on the desktop, temporarily destroys what's on the free space I have, and then comes the EXTORTION $$$$ pay for more space! And when you delete all HELL Breaks, lose! Already removed One Drive but my stuff on my PC still in ONe Drive Subfolders!

    I'm having the same issue. What a ridiculous product this is! I accidentally click a box to close a window and now Onedrive is besieging my computer for days! It is just taking and hiding all my ****. In what universe is this not extremely invasive and offensive?

    There is NO OPTION to "Always Keep on this device". I've highlighted the 7 folders that

    are in the One Drive and right clicking only gives options to Save to Desktop (Create shortcut), Restore Previous version, ...the same options generally given when right clicking.
