Reverting Aptos +body/+headings font back to Calibri, or using any other font

Before Microsoft changed the default font to Aptos I had our whole companies Office default fonts set via group-policy. This was in-place and continued working for quite some time.

Now that Aptos has been enforced by MS, the policies still apply to users and set Calibri as default in registry (confirmed) as well as deploying a normal.dotm, but then when opening a new email or replying etc it is still set to Aptos by default.

Changing the default settings in "Stationary and Fonts" on a per-machine basis works but only until next reboot and is not practicable to roll out to everyone.

It "seems" like Microsoft have written something into the new deployment which over-writes even registry settings. A ticket has been raised with MS Support who have been "working on it" for nearly 2 months now with no solution.

At some point in the last couple of days, the default +body/+headings font on my copy of Office 365 changed to the Aptos font. I honestly find it a bit hard to read, and I'd rather choose my default body font from a choice of whatever fonts I have installed. Failing that, I'd take Calibri again. Since this affects all Office products, I can't say go into Outlook and change the stationery fonts; this doesn't impact the Reading Pane. It also wouldn't impact say Word, where I'd have to come up with my own document template to override the change. It doesn't seem to be a registry edit or template file edit, either. Is there a spot that the Aptos font can be changed?

The font in the reading pane is determined by whatever font the sender writes their email in. You can't change the display font for received emails only ones you compose yourself.

To force a particular font and size on all e-mails (the ones that you compose and the ones that you receive), you will have to instruct Outlook to read all mail in plain text format and then specify the desired plain text font and size in Outlook Options. This hasn't changed from previous versions of Outlook.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Microsoft stopped trying to decide what WE want on OUR computers? LEAVE IT ALONE AND STOP MESSING!!!

Indeed! It's messed up my team's templated comms, too. Where it's obvious that it's been cut and pasted. Looks okay on screen but obvious on the recipient's end. Who makes these decisions anyway? Well you know what they say, misery loves company. So I'm guessing there are more than a few of us. :)!
