At some point in the last couple of days, the default +body/+headings font on my copy of Office 365 changed to the Aptos font. I honestly find it a bit hard to read, and I'd rather choose my default body font from a choice of whatever fonts I have installed. Failing that, I'd take Calibri again. The Aptos font reminds me a lot of
Since this affects all Office products, I can't say go into Outlook and change the stationery fonts; this doesn't impact the Reading Pane. It also wouldn't impact say Word, where I'd have to come up with my own document template to override the change. It doesn't seem to be a registry edit or template file edit, either. Is there a spot that the Aptos font can be changed?

The 'set as default button' is greyed out. What to do?
In Outlook, for the Set as Default command to be available on the Change Styles drop down, the insertion point must be in the main body of an email that you are composing. The command will be grayed out if you click in the "To" field, for example.
You would also want to make sure that the mail format is HTML (rather than plain text).
The problem with this is that the default only works if creating a new workbook. The problem for me is that I have an existing workbook that is set up with Calibri. However, for each new entry I insert into a cell, since MS made this bizarre global change to fonts - and I don't recall hearing outraged users demanding a change - the font defaults to Aptos Narrow 11 and I have to manually change it every time.
And personally, I think the Aptos font looks dated.

The factory preset in Excel is to reflect the "body" font which is defined by the Office Theme. This also means that the font will change when the Office Theme is changed (if the new Theme has a different font defined, of course).
Setting a specific font will prevent future changes but it won't fix anything in existing files, unless you change the font manually.
I agree with all the people who dislike the look of the Aptos font. If I copy and paste text, it comes in as Aptos. I change it to Calibri. Why Microsoft chose to make this change and not allow users to simply choose the font they want to use as default is beyond me.
