Reverting Aptos +body/+headings font back to Calibri, or using any other font

At some point in the last couple of days, the default +body/+headings font on my copy of Office 365 changed to the Aptos font. I honestly find it a bit hard to read, and I'd rather choose my default body font from a choice of whatever fonts I have installed. Failing that, I'd take Calibri again. The Aptos font reminds me a lot of

Since this affects all Office products, I can't say go into Outlook and change the stationery fonts; this doesn't impact the Reading Pane. It also wouldn't impact say Word, where I'd have to come up with my own document template to override the change. It doesn't seem to be a registry edit or template file edit, either. Is there a spot that the Aptos font can be changed?

    Amazing how when Microsoft wants to change the font everywhere, they simply do it. Yet when we want to do the same, it is technically not possible.

    Well, Microsoft created the software. Of course they can make any changes they want to the defaults. That doesn't mean that redefining existing Themes is a good idea, of course. They could have created a new Theme called "Office 2024" or something similar.

    Note that if you set up a custom Theme, it won't change, even if Microsoft changes the predefined Theme called "Office."

    Yes, my 475 page thesis, which was supposed to be ready to submit, has changed to Aptos. Talk about 'this sucks'! Select all, change font back to calibri changed MOST of the font, but not everything, e.g., footnotes!

    Modify the font of the Normal style. You can use the Font dialog box (press Ctrl+D if you are running Word for Windows). Choose the desired font and size and click the Set as Default button. When prompted, choose the option "This document only" to apply the setting to your thesis.

    According to Microsoft, it will be possible to download Aptos later (unclear when), and then it will work in all programs. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/new-office-theme-e7bbfe02-d1fb-4c4d-b3b7-6a47f0cefd3f.

    Thanks Mark Nabb! You're definitely right with the NormalEmail.dotm template. The only problem I'm having atm is that the header font reverts back to Aptos after I've saved the file!

    I am not sure, but I suspect that Aptos is available as a "cloud" font at the moment. I haven't installed it, and it does seem to work in Office applications, only.
