Why do I keep getting these messages in my email:

Your single-use code is: 123456 [I changed this]
If you didn't request this code, you can safely ignore this email. Someone else might have typed your email address by mistake.

Thanks for your reply. You'd think that a "BLOATED" clongomerate, such as M.S., would have fixes for just about ALL of the problems that customers encounter. It feels like the customers have to do the leg work in finding out how to resolve issues that they a stuck with. It truly pisses me off. Sorry for the reply, I just had to get it off my chest. Hi. I have the same issue with multiple emails with a single-use code to use with my Microsoft account which I have not requested. Looking at my 'Recent Activity' page I can see dozens of unsuccessful log in attempts within the last month from multiple different countries. It's clear malicious actors are trying to hack into my account. What steps are Microsoft taking to stop this malicious activity? Thanks.
To but it bluntly: There is absolutely nothing that any of us, or anyone ever can do.
You get these codes because someone, somewhere on this planet, has entered your email address in the login field. Anyone can do that.
All you can do is ignore them, or set up 2FA to make it even harder for them to get into your account, should they ever be able to correctly guess the one in a million combination of digits that is sent your way.
