Single Use Codes - repeated email request notifications

Why do I keep getting these messages in my email:

We received your request for a single-use code to use with your Microsoft account.

Your single-use code is: 123456 [I changed this]

If you didn't request this code, you can safely ignore this email. Someone else might have typed your email address by mistake.

    I just went in and changed my password and it seems to have stopped for now. MS do not appear to want to investigate the source - if they did, perhaps they could find out who is requesting these codes under our name.

    All rather worrying and disconcerting.

    Same. I have been receiving daily from a certain timing and a few times again. Can someone from msft look into this?

    I have been getting these single-use code emails as well since June 2023, and am still getting them a year later.

    Often enough even at odd times when I'm asleep, like around 4 AM.

    Is there any way to even know where these requests are coming from?

    Edit:

    Found my account activity page, and as it turns out there are requests from all over the planet.

    Is there any way to stop these emails though?

    Ridiculous indeed. Microsoft should have a way to block obviously fraudulent attempts to access our account. I have had 7 already this morning. Truly annoying!

    This was happening to me and then I realized my password hadn't been changed since 2021. I guess people were getting partial access to my account but were getting locked out when they tried to take advanced actions.
