Single Use Codes - repeated email request notifications

Why do I keep getting these messages in my email:

We received your request for a single-use code to use with your Microsoft account.

Your single-use code is: 123456 [I changed this]

If you didn't request this code, you can safely ignore this email. Someone else might have typed your email address by mistake.

    Hi, thank you for your comment. From reading through some of the other replies, I see that both I and we are not the only ones experiencing this issue. That should provide your office with a clear indication that there is a glitch in your system, that for the safety and security of all your customers around the world, you should be paying attention to. We are all living in unsafe and uncertain times, let's not make it more difficult. Best wishes to one and all.

    Well, Microsoft could, with the acceptance of the government and with the help of the authotiries, trace back the origin and just arrest the person.

    They could also include in the code request email, the website to which it have been asked for, which would allow the user to know which website/account is being attacked and the user could take measure accordingly.

    Since I don't consider myself a genius, if microsoft, with it's army of genius, havent implemented that already, its probably because they dont want people to know what is happening "behind the scene" and since the NSA(and it's well known) is tracking/spying on people, it may be related to that as well.

    As for now, people should ask microsoft to not only show history of connexion(which seem to be broken because for me it never show anything) but also include with the code the website to which is it asked for. That way, people would know and could act accordingly.

    I seem to get at least one a day.It seems a bit excessive for whoever needs it or whatever is happeng. id like it to stop

    I also am getting this "Your single-use code" message repetedly. I have tried to change my password but then get this message "A strong password helps prevent unauthorized access to your email account.

    This task is temporarily unavailable because an incorrect password was entered too many times. A temporary delay helps prevent people from trying to guess your password. Please try again later." I have waited a day or several hrs and get the same message. HOW CAN I CHANGE MY PASSWORD before their attemts to hack into my hotmail account are successful?
