Error code 29 when starting O365

Use your own username for “username”.

This fix worked perfectly. In 2 mins the office apps opened with no issues at all, i.e Error 29 has gone.

Hi everyone.

I updated my Microsoft 365 license key this week. It's now 6/26/2024. Microsoft still hasn't provided a solution to the problem (I haven't been able to find one yet). I can't use the 365 applications on my computer.

Unfortunately, in my country, Microsoft seems to have hidden from customers, i.e. there is no way to talk to support, with a PERSON.

We are instructed by the answering machine to download an application that is supposed to fix the problem. Sad mistake.

But I haven't given up the search for a solution here in the community. I hope it will be useful to everyone who is facing this problem.

And, I call on Microsoft to work on a solution to this problem, apparently very simple, so that we no longer encounter this small error that greatly inconveniences us.

finally... this was driving me mad today, when I did logoff and logon again in Office. Then, I got this error. It seems, the credentials are not unloaded correctly.

Now, I can logoff (not that I need to) run the scripts and ok.

The whole mess started today when I did try out the Windows Pin, but then, reverted back to normal logon. Then, suddenly, Onenote said, it is not activated, etc.

This is on you, Microsoft!

Thank you for your reply. After a few different agents I was lucky enough to get connected to someone fantastic and shared a comment I found in this thread. She uninstalled the product and re-entered it and it was fixed in about 1 hour.

I don't know if this is exactly what she did but she was straight into my computer once I shared it.

2). cd c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\

3). cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"
