My children are unable to log into their accounts, and their accounts are linked with with mine in Family Safety. I am able to input all required information to identify their account in the account verification form, but they have not sent emails from their account. Every time I complete an account verification form, it tells me I haven't provided enough information. How can I provide more if they have never sent an email? It is VERY frustrating that as their mother, I am not able to help them reset their password and now their account and personal information is not within my control. Microsoft needs to fix this issue, I have read dozens of posts from frustrated parents about this.

This only works if you have setup a pin and can login to a PC.
I am having a similar problem. This is atrocious. I created accounts for my kids and I cannot access anything. It would be better to be able to create child profiles to my own and not require logins with passwords for an xbox. It makes the whole thing pretty awful.
I'm having the same issue and I'm absolutely blown away. I only even use Xbox as a backup for my children who were gifted one. I set up an email for my child so they could use it without messing with my information and set the family account information up under the impression that as the head of everything, there'd be no issue (especially for a minor child, a teen I MIGHT understand in regards to privacy) in resetting the password if something happened. It's ridiculous, and I work tech support so I KNOW how easy it is to come up with work arounds that still prioritize information safety guidelines. This seems almost intentionally difficult (more so for the user themselves than an actual hacker)
At the very least, something should've been notated during the creation process that says the head member of the family account can't reset passwords so add an additional backup because the backup you think you're setting up by setting up the online profile is not going to work.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, I've looked through other threads for this issue and some have more than 200 people with the same problem. The reps that reply all give the same answer of using the recovery form if there wasn't an alternative email provided. Seeing as how common this issue is I would think Microsoft would have done something to fix this by now. If I have to begin my application process again I will definitely not be using a Microsoft email account.
