How can I reset the password to my child's account?

My children are unable to log into their accounts, and their accounts are linked with with mine in Family Safety. I am able to input all required information to identify their account in the account verification form, but they have not sent emails from their account. Every time I complete an account verification form, it tells me I haven't provided enough information. How can I provide more if they have never sent an email? It is VERY frustrating that as their mother, I am not able to help them reset their password and now their account and personal information is not within my control. Microsoft needs to fix this issue, I have read dozens of posts from frustrated parents about this.

    Hello. I have a MSFT 365 account. I am the family group administrator. I need to set up my 11 year old daughter in a new iMAC. As she is a minor, she cannot have an apple account. I need to use her outlook email account. the iMAC is asking for her outlook password, but we do not remember it. How can I change her outlook password?

    Two years on, and there is still no reasonable solution for this. I am inclined to incinerate the xbox rather than deal with Microsoft on this nonsense any longer.

    Enough of this garbage!

    I have wasted almost 3 hours already just trying to add my child's login to another one of my child's computers! It started with the Microsoft Authenticator app, since I changed my lock screen, finally sorted that, then when she tries to login to her account, it says it sent a code to her email address. Log onto her account on other computer, no code(s) in email, WTF!!! I've tried dozens of times since yesterday, verified email, etc. etc.. There's no option to choose the login method, of course, so figure I'd try to reset the password and see if that changes anything and here I am.

    What a big, steaming, stinky pile of over-engineered, useless trash for such a simple task. As a software developer / engineer, I find this completely unacceptable, but not surprising in the least. Whoever is over this should be fired like yesterday.

    To add insult to injury, Microsoft is now trying to force all accounts to be "online" Microsoft accounts so they can use their telemetry to track everything about you.

    That said, I know of ways to still create a local-only account. I will do that until I no longer can and then I'll switch 100% to Linux, and the kids will just have to learn. Screw this.

    What an absolute joke of a company. I've avoided M$ for years but had to setup an account for my son to play Minecraft, but now that his account is orphaned and existing mine coins are wasted, I'm thinking screw this and don't want to give this company another penny.

    Well done M$, your atrocious customer experience means you're going to lose out on my both my son's pocket money until you fix this.
