How can I reset the password to my child's account?

My children are unable to log into their accounts, and their accounts are linked with with mine in Family Safety. I am able to input all required information to identify their account in the account verification form, but they have not sent emails from their account. Every time I complete an account verification form, it tells me I haven't provided enough information. How can I provide more if they have never sent an email? It is VERY frustrating that as their mother, I am not able to help them reset their password and now their account and personal information is not within my control. Microsoft needs to fix this issue, I have read dozens of posts from frustrated parents about this.

    Hi,

    I think this is great way going forward but it's the loss of the game that you already have linked to your Microsoft account. Then if this is hooked up to your playstation (as ours is). There is no way of unlinking the profile without signing in. My son can't currently play on his account which is surely no ideal for Microsoft either?

    It is totally not fit for purpose.

    As as said time and time again on here. As an admin of a company I can reset my colleagues passwords but I can't for my son who is a minor.

    I am hoping bye keeping this thread open Microsoft may come to their senses and fix this issue.

    I actually tried everything. I read MS help pages - there are CIRCULAR support references, that finally leads to the same site - to the same site that not worked.

    I also managed finally to speak with some incian support guys, they was really helpful, however they said - after some rounds of mailings that there is NO WAY to recover the accound if that idiot MS account recover site does not recovers it.

    So finally - after spending really lot of work on it - I created a new accound and payed that f* Minecraft again to my child. F* MS. F* them all.

    Sorry for telling this, but this was really really fristrating...

    What an absolute joke of a company. I've avoided M$ for years but had to setup an account for my son to play Minecraft, but now that his account is orphaned and existing mine coins are wasted, I'm thinking screw this and don't want to give this company another penny.

    Well done M$, your atrocious customer experience means you're going to lose out on my both my son's pocket money until you fix this.
