How can I reset the password to my child's account?

Large - humongous - conglomerated Microsoft - I've debugged for over an hour - Tested all the options here - No, I've not logged in with my kids account to any other devices other than the initial xbox-account, and now the password is broken, and there is no way what whatsoever to reset it. I even specifically set my private mail as family organizer and checked on everything to make this easy to administer.. I thought..

I'm a 7 years experienced software engineer, and the design here in the resetting this password is a complete deadlock mess with bots not going anywhere unless you've already used the account for mails and other things extensively.,

Just read this: "Microsoft expects the kids to have their own phone" for the password resets... Jesus... even the whole of Silicon Valley won't give their kids phones...

I just need a god damn account for the kids to play Minecraft and connect to a friend...

Unfortunately after a Minecraft purchase on an android phone and then the need of Microsoft/Xbox account the recovery email has not been set. The skip for recovery email I'm not sure if it was dues to the 'create process' or my clumsiness.

On the Family safety I have both of my kids, but just the first account has the no email recover, the second one had and the recover has achieved.

Now, for the account with no recover email is not a possibility to put this solution in Family safety. To add the possibility of adding at least just the parent email address if not a possibility to reset directly the kid's password.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, I've looked through other threads for this issue and some have more than 200 people with the same problem. The reps that reply all give the same answer of using the recovery form if there wasn't an alternative email provided. Seeing as how common this issue is I would think Microsoft would have done something to fix this by now. If I have to begin my application process again I will definitely not be using a Microsoft email account.

I also had this issue. I resolved it by going to XBOX live in a web browser and entering my kid's email; the password reset is more direct here and works like all other REASONABLE resets. I would also suggest downloading the Microsoft authenticator to my phone to make recovery easier.
