Stop dialog popup "Microsoft respects your privacy"

I'm on a Windows 11 PC

Every time I start outlook, word, excel, etc the below dialogs appear. Once I have clicked through all the options the toolbar has this notification under it;

For a start "Restart Office" is not very clear, because there is no office app. So I assume it means close and restart all running office applications. Which I did but the dialogs continue to appear each time I start one of the apps.

I have since tried;

  1. Restarting PC
  2. Office Repair
  3. Office Repair online (it uninstalled office and then couldn't go any further so I had to download and reinstall office)
  4. Reinstall of office

Does anyone know how to fix this so it no longer appears at the start of office 365 apps

    I only noticed this problem happening for me on Friday (26 Aug 2023), but it's been driving me nuts ever since. I use Word all the time, and also Excel to a lesser extent. The "Microsoft respects your privacy" screens keep popping up every time I open one or the other. Clicking the options (in all combinations possible!), closing, and reopening does nothing. Worse, if I stay in Word, for instance, I'm actually logged out on my account. I can log in from the 'sign in' button at the top of the Word doc, but next time I open Word it's doing it again.

    I've gone to my Account via <account.microsoft.com/> so many times and set the preferences, checked the account email, etc., I've lost count.

    I only have M-365 Personal, rather than Business, because it's just me using it for my work. Apparently this makes me insignificant small-fry to Microsoft, as I can't discover anywhere how to talk to a Microsoft support person. This is the best I can find, and nothing I've read has worked for me so far. The 13 20 58 number goes nowhere now, other than to direct me online for some 'self help', which eventually landed me here.

    I only have one email attached to Microsoft 365. I have a Hotmail address connected to Outlook for Apple on my iPhone, but I've set the preferences to the same things as my computer, and still no effect. Everything has been functioning fine till a few days ago, but I see from these posts that different people have had this problem at various time for ages.

    I understand there might be different reasons for this issue, but nothing had changed in the way I do things in the last few days except this nightmare started!

    Help!!

    Next step... cancel M-365 subscription and find something else?

    Adding that I am getting tired of this as well. Every time I start an Office app it am greeted with the nag prompts and I am also told that the app needs to restart. EVERY.TIME.EVERY.APP.

    I have the same problem. Started a few days ago. Think it start with a MS365 auto update. Message "Microsoft respects your Privacy" pops up at when changing programs etc. a real pain! Keeps repeating. What is the MS solution or fix????
