Stop dialog popup "Microsoft respects your privacy"

I'm on a Windows 11 PC

Every time I start outlook, word, excel, etc the below dialogs appear. Once I have clicked through all the options the toolbar has this notification under it;

For a start "Restart Office" is not very clear, because there is no office app. So I assume it means close and restart all running office applications. Which I did but the dialogs continue to appear each time I start one of the apps.

I have since tried;

  1. Restarting PC
  2. Office Repair
  3. Office Repair online (it uninstalled office and then couldn't go any further so I had to download and reinstall office)
  4. Reinstall of office

Does anyone know how to fix this so it no longer appears at the start of office 365 apps

    I had the same problem. Tried everything in the above to no avail. I went into Office and found one of my emails was corrupted with a "fix It" box below.. Clicked on it and the problem was solved.

    Yep. Mr. Mad Marty hit it on the nail. Microsoft just wanted me to sign-in to my Microsoft account. No more privacy notices, finally! Thanks.

    That's a shame - this looked like an optimistic route to go.

    Inevitable it didn't work.

    So every time I fire up Word I get the stupid notice and need 3 clicks to get going.

    Why don't MS concentrate on fixing the myriad bugs in Word instead of dreaming up this tripe?

    I had this problem and thanks to this thread discovered that somehow Microsoft had found an old Hotmail account I haven't used for years, as well as my current Outlook account, so signed out of Hotmail and hey presto, problem solved. All very strange though.
