Documents showing in recent when not opened

I have noticed that every time I open file explorer, the recent list shows a random 10 documents which are stored on onedrive that I haven't accessed (on this or any other device). I am the only one with access to the device and the onedrive folder.

    Maybe Copilot is snooping around, and Explorer just caught it red-handed?

    I have the same issue and thought I had been hacked....

    It is a year on from this post, and the problem has started happening to me. Which suggests it is not just an ordinary 'bug' that was fixed.

    The particular files being accessed are the most personal ones, specifically medical, financial and family related- which makes it feel like a hack.

    What happened on this thread from November 2023? Did anyone else get to the bottom of this?

    Thanks for the reply but this does not stop my computer slowing down and freezing as files are opened. My is it happening in the first place and why on my research documents, financials. Just not having recent file log is not the answer
