I have noticed that every time I open file explorer, the recent list shows a random 10 documents which are stored on onedrive that I haven't accessed (on this or any other device). I am the only one with access to the device and the onedrive folder.

Hi mostly when I first turn on the computer and I have seen it happening while watching
This is still happening in Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4037)
with OneDrive ver:Build 24.166.0818.0003 (64-bit)
File Explorer version:
File Description: Windows Explorer. File & Product Version: 10.0.22621.4036
In my case it seems to be the same files all the time.
Even if I go clear the recent items folder at %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent[ * | Automatic Destinations\* | Custom Destinations\* ] it still comes back after a bit.
It is very disconcerting.
It does seem to be only OneDrive files that are part of MS365 like .doc, docx, xlsx, etc.
I have had this problem for months but in last few weeks a new problem related to this seems to be happening. I do not recall when it changed but I believe back last fall I would try to look for a file I just opened and it would not even be on the list of recent files but old unopened files would be there. But recently I can watch the list and see it changing as I am watching it. If I open recent files it will actually be updating the list with all kinds of files as I am watching it. The recent file I had open is on the list but quickly moves down to the bottom as old files are syncing though. I know this has to be a change with an update and the sync (backup) of the one drive. I have looked for some kind of options in settings and have read through many threads and not found a solution. There is a way to not show "recent" but I like having the recent files it makes it easier to access. Well it use to. Now it is almost useless.
But the newest glitch started a few weeks ago. As one drive is syncing if I have powerpoint open working one it for example when one drive gets to my file that I am working on for resyncing one drive just closes the powerpoint I am working on no notice and I loose whatever I did in last few minutes and I have to reopen PowerPoint and the file. I have had it where it closes the file I am working on several times. Once every hour or so. If I go to recent files right after it closed it I can see the file racing down the recent files list as one drive is going through files that are not open or accessed yet they are showing new ones several a minute at top of my recent files. I want my files to back up, but a file that was already saved and has not been opened does not need to be backed up daily. It needs to be saved in cloud when I save it to cloud not over and over and over again..This is a stupid glitch I would like a way to fix it.
I have exactly the same issue, and it is a recent issue.
