I have noticed that every time I open file explorer, the recent list shows a random 10 documents which are stored on onedrive that I haven't accessed (on this or any other device). I am the only one with access to the device and the onedrive folder.

Well it's been 6 days since I took the advise of Markz&'s solution and so far so good seems to be listing my recently opened files correctly.

Thousands of people have been complaining about this for *months* including me.
NO one from Microsoft came even close to solving it. Half of them solve the wrong problem (like switching off ALL recent files).
Why can't they figure it out? Many Thanks to you. I am not impressed with MS tech support.
I have just noticed that files are in my recently opened files also that I definitely have not opened.
I read thru the thread and will try what was suggested by MarkZ& on page 2 and see if it works.
After reading through all the comments it is really troubling that Microsoft engineers say it is a bug but don't respond for months on a solution.
If MarkZ&'s solution works I will let you know but Microsoft needs to update people with the status of this situation.
I was told by Microsoft months ago that showing a list of 'Recent' files that we have not opened recently is a bug that the engineers are working on. Why hasn't Microsoft rectified it by now or at least given an update on it? How do we get in touch with someone at Microsoft who knows what they're talking about and can sort it? All we're getting is a frustrating silence from Microsoft and OneDrive and the problem continues. It seems there are no relevant Microsoft people looking at these threads and we're getting nowhere.
We are in 2024 May - and I am still facing this issue that @Gooba31 mentioned in Nov 2023!
Dear @microsoft - have you come up with a solution yet? Or are files still being accessed?
