How can I sort Planner tasks within buckets by due date automatically as I add them?

• To sort Planner tasks within buckets by due date automatically, you need to use the Group by option in the upper right corner of the board view.
• Select Due date from the drop-down menu and the tasks will be grouped into buckets based on their due dates, such as Today, Tomorrow, Next week, etc.
• You can still see the original bucket names under each task card, and you can change them as needed.
• When you add a new task, it will automatically go to the appropriate bucket based on its due date, and you can adjust it later if you want.
• This way, you can keep the Kaban-style board format and have each column sorted by due date without manually dragging and dropping the tasks.

It is unbelievable that even the table view is unable to sort by just clicking in the column header.

Tasks really feels like a very preliminary demo, something to show to someone who may approve the development. Something done before there is some analysis done on how real people working in real project would like to manage their tasks.

Everything is half baked, like the three level status, the lack of any activity indicators, the change notifications which only tell you someone changed something, but not whom, what and when.

It is better than nothing, but not a serious proposition. It is only a toy kanban, a K7 toy kanban. We're only paying Guinea pigs.

This is the very basic thing needed in a planner. Sorting a bucket by due date. It should have a selection to do it automatically. There should also be a button to click on for those who don't want it automatic but rather sorted by date after they finish entering a few tasks.

Shocked Microsoft would put it's name on this half-baked solution. Please address this shortcoming ASAP.

Can't believe this is not possible. Just proves once again that this whole idea of "all in one solution" is totally flawed. Pretending that Office365 can do all these things is just a way for Microsoft to maintain its market share because companies blindly buy this all in one solution because "it's so convenient". Meanwhile, employees are looking for ways to us tools outside of what their organiszation is offering them. The problem with that is that not everyone in the organization will have access or will be willing to use those tools. So we end up not using any while paying Microsoft for providing all of them.

Well, let's see if the shiny new Planner app will allow us to sort within buckets. (I'm not even asking for drag and drop between buckets, cause that would obviously be asking to much. But sorting a long list of tasks within a bucket sounds feasible. I heard there are sorting algorithms that are not too difficult to implement.

I see your suggestion to try to make it work for what was asked, but being able to filter by date within each bucket, is what is needed. I discuss with my team by bucket, then touch on the top 2 items based on due dates. I waste time having to drag and drop. I would prefer to not have a drop and drop feature to instead have each bucket sorted by date.

Just my opinion, but this answer was not the correct answer for what was asked for this forum.
