I use a Kaban-style board sorted into buckets for each project. Frustratingly, I cannot figure out how to sort the tasks within a bucket by due date automatically. Currently, if I want to see the most urgent items at the top and least urgent at the bottom, I need to manually drag the task down... which does not scroll down well, so I often need to drag & drop, drag & drop, drag & drop... until it arrives where I need it.
How could I keep this same Kaban-style board format (not list, grid, or schedule view) and have each column sorted by due date, even when I add a new task in?

Two years since OP raised this issue, and it has still not been resolved.
Within a Kaban bucket, planner should have various automatic sort options, with due date as the default. Manually reordering them is ridiculously inefficient.
I think we need to find a way to escalate this. Anybody have some ideas? This is now Microsoft taking the piss on us.
This feature would be really useful and increase the functionality of Planner.
Hahaha. Good luck. We have been asking for this feature for years now. Crickets! I talked with an MVP and they said its coming, I doubt it.
