I use a Kaban-style board sorted into buckets for each project. Frustratingly, I cannot figure out how to sort the tasks within a bucket by due date automatically. Currently, if I want to see the most urgent items at the top and least urgent at the bottom, I need to manually drag the task down... which does not scroll down well, so I often need to drag & drop, drag & drop, drag & drop... until it arrives where I need it.
How could I keep this same Kaban-style board format (not list, grid, or schedule view) and have each column sorted by due date, even when I add a new task in?

The fact this is over 12mo old with no changes is comical. Each group should have its own sorting ability. Maybe its by date, maybe its by who is assigned, maybe its by tag.
Fathia,
I see your suggestion to try to make it work for what was asked, but being able to filter by date within each bucket, is what is needed. I discuss with my team by bucket, then touch on the top 2 items based on due dates. I waste time having to drag and drop. I would prefer to not have a drop and drop feature to instead have each bucket sorted by date.
Just my opinion, but this answer was not the correct answer for what was asked for this forum.
This is the very basic thing needed in a planner. Sorting a bucket by due date. It should have a selection to do it automatically. There should also be a button to click on for those who don't want it automatic but rather sorted by date after they finish entering a few tasks.
Shocked Microsoft would put it's name on this half-baked solution. Please address this shortcoming ASAP.
So, if you select “due date” from the drop down menu in the “group by” heading at the top right hand corner, and then select “members,” clicking on a specific individuals tasks that you are wanting to see, this will make that particular individuals tasks in a darker shade…but just for the period of time, the persons name is selected (almost acting as a filter). With searching/filtering in this way though, it still puts the tasks in sections of “late,” “today,” “next week,” and “future”.
I am still searching, because I like to see just my own tasks in 1 line and in order of due date (not all broken up, like that explained above)…should not be this difficult to figure out, but yet here we are…if I do figure it out I will repost.
