Hi,
I cannot access my Microsoft 365 account anymore.
I think my account has been hacked because when I try recovering the password, the email displayed is apparently from a Czech Republic domain (.cz). However, I have never had any .cz email.
I would like to please help me recover my Microsoft account access, so that I can get back to using it.
Thank you for your support.
Kind regards
Umberto

I understand that the situation has become more challenging since the hacker changed your recovery email. In this case, follow these steps to attempt account recovery:

Fill out the account recovery form: Visit the Microsoft account recovery form and provide as much information as possible. Clearly mention the change of your recovery email in the form. Microsoft will review your answers and respond within 24 hours.

Contact Microsoft Support: If you are still unable to recover your account after submitting the recovery form, reach out to Microsoft Support for further assistance. They offer various support options, including live chat with a Microsoft specialist.

Please be aware that recovering an account with altered recovery information may be more difficult. However, contacting Microsoft Support directly is the best course of action in this situation. They will ask you specific security questions to confirm your identity and verify that you are the rightful owner of the account, thus aiding in its recovery.

I hope these steps will help you regain access to your Microsoft 365 account. Best of luck!

Thanks Babatunde, I appreciate your help and insight.

Unfortunately, after filling the Microsoft form three times, with all information I have available (some questions ask for info that is 10 years old, and there is no way for me to recover it going back that far), I have always received an automatic email that says that 'Unfortunately, our automated system has determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership.  Microsoft takes the security and privacy of our customers very seriously, and our commitment to protecting your personal information requires that we take the utmost care in ensuring that you are the account owner'.

This is exceptionally frustrating, because there is no way to contact a human person and explain the situation. No email address, nothing. This is just atrocious customer service.

Bottom-line, not only my Microsoft account has been likely hacked, but Microsoft itself does not have in place a procedure to help a customer re-secure said account. Quite baffling.

Would it be that hard for them to just install a more secure login procedure? (i.e. contact me on my mobile phone or a secondary/recovery email account)?

    Speechless.
