Hello,
for a couple of days or maybe even weeks I noticed that in my recent files list in Windows Explorer several files appear which I did not actively open. At this moments there are 13 of these files in my list. All of these files seem to be on OneDrive.
This concerns me in two different ways:
Security: have the files been "touched" by some villaineous software, or have they just been checked routinely by Windows and its components?
Usability: In the recent files list are more then 50 percent of files which I did not work on and which will block my view on the files I did open.
I am hoping for advise.

Has anyone tried unchecking "Include accoutn-based insights, recent, favorite...." under folder options of Home?
Open File explorer > click home > click the "..." > go to options > uncheck Include account-based insights...".
It's now a nightmare. Where the hell is Microsoft on this problem? What do we do to get them to fix this? Does anyone have a suggestion about how to get the attention of the service provider? Do we have to start at "switch to Apple" campaign in the media? (Maybe too much focus on AI and not enough on the current money maker.)
A moderator, Jason Guer, says near the beginning of this thread that this thread will no longer be monitored and if we need to discuss further, we have to start a new thread. But new threads have been started and still the problem remains. I was told it is a bug of which Microsoft are aware and that engineers are working on it, but they can't say when it will be fixed. They seem to be implying that the actual files are safe and unaffected, which I hope is true. I hope they will fix this so that we can use Recent again. It's so annoying that this problem is just dragging on.
I just spent about an hour with Microsoft tech support to fix this issue. It was successful.
Can you give some detail on what Microsoft tech support did? I'm seeing files accessed in my recent file list that i haven't accessed for a very long time. I've been trying to work this out (ran malware scans, blocked incoming traffic on firewall, changed wifi password, removed and re-added all devices to home wifi, turned off One drive, closed all apps not used, etc) but still random files appear in the recent files list.
