Hi Michele Macchi,

I believe Microsoft did fix this after about 3 weeks. I am currently accessing it through a blank Word document from my desktop and not online. However, I can also access it through my Outlook account online. Maybe you can try updating your Microsoft Office or 365. I'm not sure why it started working for me again. I was never notified by Microsoft or anyone. I just took a break from it for 3 weeks and then decided to try it through Outlook and it worked. Then I tried it off-line and it worked. It has been working ever since.

I know how frustrating this can be as most of us use it for production in our field of work. But hang in there, the Microsoft community does respond.

    Good morning,

I would like to warn that I am having the same problem. I have tried changing browsers, clearing cache, trying both online and offline, but the result is the same.

Being in theory "already solved" I wonder if the problem is mine or not. 2 full months have been passed.

thanks in advance, have a good evening,

    MM

    Hi Sarah,

I don't think Cliff read your question very carefully. Nothing he suggested could possibly fix a problem with Word online.

All I can think to suggest is making the document into smaller parts.

    Dear Sarah,

Does the problem happen suddenly? If yes, what did you do before the problem occurred?

I suggest you first clear the browser cache or change a browser and then do a test again to see the result.

Here are some ways you can test alongside it to see the result.

    1. Close all Office for Mac applications.

    2. Open the Finder and go to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9. Office/User Content/Templates, move Normal.dotm to Desktop.

    3. Go to ~/Library/Preferences, locate the com.microsoft.Word.plist and com.microsoft.Office.plist files, move them to the desktop (Word will rebuild them).

    4. Restart Word for Mac.

If the problem persists, I would like you to record a video showing the problem in your environment for our reference.

If the video and video link can be shared publicly, add your confirmation and add the link here.

If not, welcome to let us know and we'll take the next step to collect the video.

Thank you for your effort and time.

    Sincerely
