I want to sue Microsoft -- OneDrive has hijacked all my local files and there's no way to retreive it!!!!

If there is no contract they cannot hold you for arbitration. I have not signed a contract with them.

Microsoft has tried to use a tactic that works like the grammar use of "you" understood. Such as, "Close the window." You Understood.

According to them, it is understood if you click any box accepting terms of use, that is equal to a contract. They have lost many lawsuits trying that tactic.

They can and have been successfully sued.

Has this class action lawsuit happened yet? It definitely should. I honestly believe what they are doing is deceptive and possibly criminal.

They literally take your personal data without permission and store it in servers where it may or may not be secure.

It is a complete invasion of privacy! Others may get access to your personal information without you knowing it.

And then they have the gall to hold your data ransom and say you must pay a fee to access it! How is this not criminal behavior? It's no different than a burglar steeling your computer and demanding you pay to get it back.

And it's even worse if you have an Outlook/Hotmail email address, because they will shut off your email unless you pay their ransom!

Please, please, please someone file this lawsuit against them. They've been getting away with this behavior for far too long.

I don't want to hear any more lame excuses of "well, why don't you just disable it?"

I'm in agreement with you, but with just a few exceptions. Microsoft is a big red Target that hackers constantly attack unsuccessfully. Their servers are as safe as Fort Knox so the chances of anyone getting our data, other than Microsoft, is very low. So I'm not worried about that.

As far as holding our data hostage, I think that's walking on a roof ridge Pole. I never even touched OneDrive, and by law they cannot touch my personal files that are living on my personal computer and or my personal email account. Irregardless of whether the email account is hosted by Microsoft, that's a personal email account and they are not allowed to touch any of my documents or files that are in emails without my explicit permission or without my explicitly requesting to sync OneDrive with the specific email or the computer. There's stance is that if you have used the operating system Windows you agreed to not sue the company. Unfortunately that doesn't hold water. There is case law after case law clear back to Teddy Roosevelt, where you cannot force anyone a customer, tenant, or client, to never sue you if they use your services. So I'm surprised we have not heard of any suits against Microsoft for the invasive and illegal actions by their data storage, cloud server.

So I agree with you to a degree about stealing data because I never agreed to ever have anything to do with OneDrive and I certainly never ever touched that Microsoft storage server so for them to actually get into my PC and my emails download files and images, is highly illegal. But as far as anybody getting access to our files, that is not going to happen and we have no reason to worry about that because the company systems have never been breached.

I feel very sad, sad to see Bill Gates amazing company in the hands of someone who has signed off on such blatant illegal behavior. I hear that Bill has been heads down with his Gates foundation and Gates trust, but he cannot be totally oblivious to what Satya is turning a blind eye to or possibly with eyes wide open signing off on this intrusive and invasive server, which operates much like an illegal hacker removing files from our personal emails and devices.

I'm pretty eager to see this play out. Bill Gates was always very open-minded and actually encouraged employees to think outside thr box . When Microsoft went head first into making MSN the number one search engine, Bill Gates told employees to keep using Google at work. MSN set up a website with the split screen, one side for MSN the other side for google. He told everybody to test MSN against google, and let them know about our experience. Because his expectation was for his staff to push the boundaries no matter what, that's what made it the number one software company on the planet. And that's why I'm sad, I live in the area and we were very proud of forward-thinking businessman living amongst us. I'm very worried about the future of the company if they don't take action to fix this issue, but I am not going to allow anyone to take my personal files without my permission. And yes I cannot access them because I never took action to allow my files transferred to their server.

You hear of any class action suits due to onedrive, please post it in the Microsoft community website.

Point by Point

1. Microsoft has always and still does have a gaping back door. 87% of all identity thefts are Microsoft hacked. The credit union hacks had Microsoft everything. Servers, hardware and software. I know, I was one of the millions who got hit.

3. Arbitration unsigned contracts hold up for about five minutes in federal court which is the only court to sue them in.
4. Lucky you have a company with the money to buy that level of protection, I don't. The best I researched is ESET and Microsoft oozed right through them.
5. Because I say what I think openly, Microsoft's latest assault was to lock me out of my computer. I could log on online using the same email address I used for my computer. For the last hundred years. According to them, they had no record of that email. I had a friend write their legal department on his law office letterhead. OMG, they located that email.
6. When Microsoft and Apple wer at the height of their Mexican Standoff, my son's two friends came up with an OS that could breach the two. Apple could read and convert Word documents, Microsoft could do the same with Corel. The two guys talked about it on chat rooms. Remember them? Out of the clear blue sky they were contacted by an angel investor. They were so young, they signed not aware they sold all rights away. Savant was never heard from again. That was Bill Gates, CEO. Not a nice guy.

Thankfully Kaiser has been successfully sued over and over for what they are doing to me and lost, but who has money for a lawyer and an ALJ hearing costs me $180. Thankfully I have things I've made that people want to buy.

Kaiser, Microsoft, the truth is they don't care. I operate from a place I call Benevolent Anarchy. Anarchy is the European sense of the word. Act with the best of intentions, when anything or person is in a 5 foot radius is to be treated kindly and with respect, but do what has to be done if you feel you've been wronged Truly wronged. Then let your rabid dog out to play and protect yourself. I'm not against guns per se. I never have owned one nor do I want one. I will use every type of social media and the law. I will be relentless, have no mercy, I will not be kind, I will be law abiding. That is why I believe Microsoft should be sued.
