When I try to unsync any folder, this error message appears:

"The folder you tried to unselect contains the windows documents folder, which is an important folder in windows and is currently pointed to Onedrive"

This is a new thing that started happening over the weekend, as I use OneDrive on a daily basis.

Rebuilding all the folders and subdirectories are not an option since they are time-consuming and there is not enough space on my local drive (which is why I am using OneDrive and turning folders on and off).

Microsoft, please sort this out.

    Ok, I definitely dont see myself doing that (manually and repeatedly fixing what Microsoft engineers messed up).

    Why pay for an annual service if it's going to be this difficult to use?

    The backend engineers need to figure out what they did in the beginning of September and find a way to get it back to a workable state.

    The Microsoft customer rep keeps trying to put the blame on us, and keeps saying it's our fault it's not working because we installed OneDrive in the wrong location.

    Still doesn't explain why we all have problems at the exact same time, and how everyone managed to install OneDrive in the exact same incorrect location. Also doesn't explain why it was working fine for years despite being in "the wrong location".

    Truth is someone in the engineering department messed with the settings but they are not taking accountability for it.

    I told him they can't expect customers to clean up their mess every time someone at Microsoft is negligent because that's not our job. Its theirs.

    I'm not expecting a rational response at this point.

    Had exactly same problems, and am left with the same half-baked get-arounds.

    I don't know why we pay for this garbage. I suppose because the effort of changing to something new is too much to bear, even if it comes with only a fraction of the difficulties this presents.
