OneNote 365 Not Displaying TABS LAYOUT > VERTICAL TABS Option

Hi Support,

I installed the latest version of Office 365 / Microsoft 365 and while searching online says to go to VIEW > TABS LAYOUT > VERTICAL TABS to make OneNote display the tabs vertical as opposed to horizontal; however, when I click on VIEW, I don't see this option and only see the follow image below.

I tried to go to FILE > OPTIONS > DISPLAY to see if I could customize the RIBBON and don't see this option.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Dear Sonny,

It seems that you are talking about the feature mentioned in New Layout Options for OneNote on Windows are coming soon (microsoft.com). I'm afraid that the feature hasn't been released to all version number of the OneNote application. I suggest you keep close eyes on the updates of the OneNote application and wait for the feature in your environment.

As a workaround, you can click on the notebook tab>click on Pin Notebook Pane to Side currently.

    This works, thank you.

    However, it is infuriating that MS would not roll out vertical tabs to all users.

    Dear Mel,

    I just open the latest version number of the OneNote application Version 2304 (Build 16327.20214 Click-to-Run) in Current Channel and the feature isn't available in it. So I think that it hasn't been fully released yet.

    If you want to try and test the feature, you may change the channel to Beta Channel temporarily. However, Beta Channel is a test version and should be only ran in a test environment, please check whether it is permitted to be changed to Beta Channel in your organization.

    To change the update channel, you can use ODT to do that.

    Here is the feature showed in Beta Channel.
