OneNote Sync Error (OneNote can't connect to the network. We'll try to sync your notes when the network is available. (Error code: 0xE000006B b6d09)

Thank you to those in this thread who said Avast was a problem. I was experiencing this issue for about a month where OneNote on my Windows laptop would not sync with OneNote in One Drive. In the Avast I am using in the U.S., latest version, there was only the option to turn off "Web Shield" entirely. I turned it off to test and sure enough all my OneNote notebooks synced correctly.

However, I didn't want to turn off Web Shield entirely. So there is an option in Avast to enter an exception. Go to Menu > Settings> General > Exceptions > Add Exception. Then type in your notebook's URL address like this: https://onedrive.live.com/\*

Be sure to put the asterisk in.

Now I can run Avast with the web shield turned on but without interfering with my OneNote. The URL you enter into Avast for the exception may differ depending on where you are syncing your notebooks to.

Currently, under investigation. Avast asks for service packages of affected customers to speed up the fix.

Well, I had this annoying problem for the past few days.

Just managed to update my windows 10 for all the last updated after it wasn't updated for more than 2 years because of a registry error.

At the same time i removed my anti-virus software (Avast) and stayed with windows defender.

I don't know if there is any connection between the actions I did, but now Onenote got back to sync perfectly.

Please update if any of that worked for you.

I am in the same boat as you.

Many of my sections are not synced yet so the "export method" seen above won't work nearly as smooth. To make matters worse, I probably have hundreds of links within the One Note file tracing to other areas of the file. Creating a new notebook would require me to audit the whole document and change the link pathways.

I wouldn't care that much if exported material was viewable so I could share with colleagues periodically, but even though my notebook is "up to date," exported material that wasn't synced properly is not visible. I literally am the only person on my team who can see the changes as a result.

This is bizarre to me as I assumed the app is simply exporting the allegedly "up to date" material that I see on my screen. Why would synchronization compromise viewing exported material in my "Downloads"? Who knows...

At this stage, I am trusting that the issue will be resolved soon rather than take any further action myself. This is the most tedious MSFT bug I have faced as I usually have zero issues with One Note and MSFT Suite.

Our team chose to house all our process documentation on One Note as it is usually such a reliable tool, so this is quite a shock to me.

Again, I wouldn't care that much if unsynced material was still viewable when exported, but as mentioned above, any unsynchronized sections are pretty much a lost cause right now unless I export to a Word doc or PDF.

We are begging, Microsoft! Please help :(

The problem resolved itself around the end of February. I really think it was a OneNote backend problem because I did nothing on my side. Since then, my work computer was upgraded (in place) to Windows 11 and I am running Office insider build 2305 16421.2000000 with no issues.
