Hello

Just recently, I have been getting this error on some on my OneNote notebooks and while I can force a sync, the process takes an exceedingly long time and does resolve itself only to reappear later in the day.

I have tried to copy sections into a new notebook only to have the problem reoccur.

OneNote can't connect to the network. We'll try to sync your notes when the network is available. (Error code: 0xE000006B b6d09)

I can open the notebook via the web app but the sections that do not synchronize show an error.

I am sure that the network is not the issue.

Searched Everywhere with no results. My issue was in a specific PC with windows 11 which sent the error for 2 specific notebooks. My Android phone and Windows 10 laptop synced OK.

    Try this:

    1. Make a backup of your Notebook by going to File - Export (select OneNote Package *.onepkg):

    1. Now go to File - Info and click Settings:

    1. Select Close: It will try to sync and will send a message telling that the notebook, section or page are not synced. Just click OK. The notebook will close.
    2. Go to Open and select your notebook. Try syncing. It worked for me

Found a solution/workaround for when this happens. If you copy the notebook, close the old one, and reopen the new copy it will reset your sync. You may need to reshare the link with anyone else you want to work on the notebook. But this worked for me.

    1. Open the Notebook that you want to copy.  With the Notebook open …
    2. Click on "File" then "Export"
    3. Export Current:  Click on "Notebook"
    4. Select Format:  Click on "OneNote package (*.onepkg)"
    5. Click on "Export" to begin the copy process
    6. File Explorer opens---choose where the copy of the Notebook is to be placed (Ex. This PC, Documents folder or OneDrive, Documents folder).  Remember, if you want to be able to share this Notebook or access it from anywhere, it must be placed in OneDrive.  So, click on OneDrive, then Documents.
    7. "Open" the Documents folder and give the Notebook a new name--it must be different from the original name of the Notebook, then click on "Save"
    8. Open File Explorer again and find the Notebook with the new name.
    9. Double-click on it to unpack it.
    10. Click on "Create" to create the copied Notebook with the new name.
    11. Good Luck

Edit: Disabling just the "HTTPS-Scanning" Option in Avast solves the syncing problem in OneNote for me.

That's the solution! It is an Avast issue, not a MS!

    Uncheck in Menü - Einstellungen - Schutz - Wichtige Schutzmodule - Web-Schutz - HTTPS-Scanning

I wan't able to sync with the same error message for a week. After temporary turning off Avast, syncing works.

Edit: Disabling just the "HTTPS-Scanning" Option in Avast solves the syncing problem in OneNote for me.

    Hello Waqas

Thanks for the quick response. My problem is growing in scope.

    My work computer

    Microsoft® OneNote® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2302 Build 16.0.16107.20000) 64-bit

    OneDrive for Business

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

    Version: 10.0.19044 Build 19044

    My personal computer

    Microsoft® OneNote® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2302 Build 16.0.16107.20000) 64-bit

    Personal OneDrive

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview

    Version: 10.0.25276 Build 25276

Both have the same error but not all notebooks are impacted.

OneNote can't connect to the network. We'll try to sync your notes when the network is available. (Error code: 0xE000006B b6d09)

Other than using the same internet connection there are no similarities between the computers.
