Recently updated to new iOS and Microsoft family app keeps crashing. Have restart phone multiple times and uninstall and reinstalled app several times. Before the iOS update, app was giving errors on the notification page. Had to keep hitting refresh button and it would finally connect to Microsoft.

Hey everyone, good news! An update is now available which resolves this issue, with the new app version implementing the fix being 1.24.3. Please update to the newest version and see if the issue is resolved.

Based on some user experience, if you do not get the update offered you may have to uninstall the app first, then reinstall to get the new version.

I had the same issue and somehow I fixed it. This is what I did:

    1. Uninstall the app
    2. Power off the phone and power it back on
    3. Reinstall the app
    4. Go through the Get Started screen one by one
    5. Sign in the microsoft account.
    6. Select "send diagnostic data" (User Protocol Potato mentioned in his case he did not select this option but also fixed his problem)
    7. When asked for location service, I by accident selected the only once. And then app will say you have to grant the location, and will navigate to the iOS Settings, enable the location service there to Always
    8. Once back to the app, everything just works.

Not sure this will work for all of you! Good Luck!

BTW, I am using iPhone 13 pro, iOS 16.4.1

I have the same issue with two ipads and two iphones (all ios 16.4.1).

One ipad was a factory resetted device…

    Hello Jeremy,

Unfortunately, I don't have any further troubleshooting to offer. There are no open issues published officially for Family safety app for IOS 16.4.1. There are many knowledgeable users active on the forum and I hope that someone else can offer further insight on your issue.

    Thanks, Ravikumar
