Microsoft Nightmare - Data Protection team

Hi Everyone,

I read that many people complained about Data Protection Team at Microsoft and I want to add my voice to them, as it is a black hole.

Due to a Microsoft bug for password less login, everyone in my organisation is unable to login to their account. I am posting this message with a different microsoft exchange server.

The business has been down for four days, I contacted Microsoft at least 10 times. This is what happens every single time, great example of a complete system and technology failure:

  1. operator asks for contact details, case number, my address, business name etc.
  2. redirect to Data Protection team3. Data Protection team operator talks as if s/he has absolutely no clue what happened in the case despite providing them with case number4. I explain everything that happened from scratch with all the little details again as they ask the stupid questions every time5. They say what your contact details is, engineer will call you6. no one calls and I call back and go through above steps again and again and again, exactly the same every time, and every time no one has a clue of previous information about the caseI asked the operator to connect me to their manager, they refused. I asked them to connect me to engineer and they refused.

Yesterday I called and someone said they contacted you! After digging deeper, realised they sent an email to the account that is locked out! Despite having my phone number, despite having my gmail email address and despite knowing how urgent it is, they contacted a locked account after 4 days and expected a response!

So the operator for the 10th time took my details and now 16 hrs passed and no one has called.

I need Microsoft to understand that my business is fully down due to their fault. I am hiring new employees who are supposed to start this week, I can’t use emails to contact them, I can’t use Slack because it has SSO, I can’t use my project management software because of SSO, and I can’t access my files because of SSO.

Updating me about the case is the least they can do, but they prefer to play ignorance.

Really frustrating and extremely disappointing of Microsoft. This is a formal complaint as I couldn’t talk to any other human that thinks out of the box and help me talk to someone who has the power to take action. A complete black hole call back procedure.

I agree totally, worst customer services ever, I should know, I own an Emma mattress. I have been waiting over 48 hours now for something I was told was a quick fix. Apparently, somebody else has my domain registered to them prior to me. Although Microsoft accept I own it they are making me wait, I have NO idea when they are going to call, I can't raise a live chat as it takes me back to an old chat mid way through with no response.

Any attempt to open a new ticket or speak to someone else, and I am met with "we can't put you through to that team" which is extraordinary as they put me through the first time round but seem to have lost the ability. Oh, but don't worry, they will pop an update on, this is the 3rd update in as many days, simply NO correspondence whatsoever, they don't answer your emails, they don't respond to notes on the ticket. Somebody obviously has a god complex, and all the while its costing me money.

We are having the same issue started yesterday. This is a ridiculous bug and should be recalled until it's resolved. Their support advocates are completely useless, they hang up the phone on you when calling in, I'd been in the wait queue for 2 and a half hours one time and the call ended after someone pickup the phone and hung it right back up. This is day 2 of our lock out. Now thank god this isn't effecting our entire company just anyone with an administration role, with that being said a lot of our processes are broken because all of the administrators are locked out.

    All,

I'm having the exact same issue - I've been waiting for 5 weeks now for a call back from the Data Protection Team.

Completely at my wits end with this.

It is absolutely disgraceful - my business is literally stuck in time whilst we wait for a call-back which i know just isn't going to come. The support team genuinely are helpless- they can't give me the engineers name, they cant give me an ETA, they can't escalate it, they cant email me a confirmation or update - nothing.

@Microsoft PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ESCALATE THIS.

I'm seriously considering pursuing legal action for loss of revenue.

    Hi,

I am currently having the same problem. Calling every day for hours, call after call, and getting disconnected. This is now day 7 of this problem. When I finally get connected they tell me that an engineer will call me back. I tried to speak to a supervisor but they couldn't reach data protection department. I can't access my business email and I am about to file for bankruptcy because I can't conduct my business. This is a nightmare.

I have the same issue - mfa was turned on and authenticator only has code as method to authenticate. It wasn’t set up and I’m admin of the domain and my email is the same so I am locked out of the admin portal with no access. I’ve tried calling Microsoft and no response. I need help to resolve asap
