Microsoft Nightmare - Data Protection team

Hi Everyone,

I read that many people complained about Data Protection Team at Microsoft and I want to add my voice to them, as it is a black hole.

Due to a Microsoft bug for password less login, everyone in my organisation is unable to login to their account. I am posting this message with a different microsoft exchange server.

The business has been down for four days, I contacted Microsoft at least 10 times. This is what happens every single time, great example of a complete system and technology failure:

  1. operator asks for contact details, case number, my address, business name etc.
  2. redirect to Data Protection team3. Data Protection team operator talks as if s/he has absolutely no clue what happened in the case despite providing them with case number4. I explain everything that happened from scratch with all the little details again as they ask the stupid questions every time5. They say what your contact details is, engineer will call you6. no one calls and I call back and go through above steps again and again and again, exactly the same every time, and every time no one has a clue of previous information about the caseI asked the operator to connect me to their manager, they refused. I asked them to connect me to engineer and they refused.

Yesterday I called and someone said they contacted you! After digging deeper, realised they sent an email to the account that is locked out! Despite having my phone number, despite having my gmail email address and despite knowing how urgent it is, they contacted a locked account after 4 days and expected a response!

So the operator for the 10th time took my details and now 16 hrs passed and no one has called.

I need Microsoft to understand that my business is fully down due to their fault. I am hiring new employees who are supposed to start this week, I can’t use emails to contact them, I can’t use Slack because it has SSO, I can’t use my project management software because of SSO, and I can’t access my files because of SSO.

Updating me about the case is the least they can do, but they prefer to play ignorance.

Really frustrating and extremely disappointing of Microsoft. This is a formal complaint as I couldn’t talk to any other human that thinks out of the box and help me talk to someone who has the power to take action. A complete black hole call back procedure.

I also cannot log into my admin portal due to an MFA issue. I've been waiting 10 days. I call in, get told someone will call back, then no one calls back.

Even after purchasing a Business Assist plan, I get no help.

After selling my new boss on how great Office 365 is, and getting approval to move our company over.

I'm not sure I want to go through with this now.

write to ******@cbc.ca and get them on board. If many of us do, they will investigate and get Microsoft in the news and get things to change hopefully. It's worth a shot.

I am in the same boat, without a paddle and travelling towards a waterfall.

Are there humans at Microsoft? I need to speak to someone.

    Please contact me.

I completely agree with AEli 819 .... Microsoft clearly doesn't care one bit about the smaller business customers they have. The microsoft authenticator started messing up for me on the evening of Wednesday, November 15 about 6PM. I called multiple times on Thursday November 16, Friday, Sunday, Monday and today, Tuesday November 21. Because of this issue, my business has been 100% shut down, now for almost 6 entire days. I have probably spent close to 18 hours trying to talk to different people at microsoft, trying to get them to help me. I have not had anyone help me. Every day, the "inbound" team in the Data Protection Group promises that someone from the Outbound Team is assigned and that this Outbound person will call me within 24 hours. And every 24 hours goes by and nobody calls me. I can't believe I have paid to be a microsoft client and this is what my money has provided - zero service - the worst customer service I think I have ever received. Everything about this process has been unbelievable. I can't believe a company this big, making this much profit every year, can't hire more support people and can't develop technology and systems that actually work to make sure their customers receive support. Fixing this issue probably will actually end up taking a support person less than 15 minutes to fix and reset this MFA Authenticator, but nobody is even attempting to help me. I guess I need to find another company to provide my business and me support in the future. I wish the public news sources would do a long written and TV story to show the world how bad microsoft is about providing customer service. I have never had such bad service, professionally or personally, in my entire 48 years of life. Microsoft doesn't take service seriously.
